Our collections are named after great years in the history of timepieces and the 1971 collection is no exception. In the years leading up to 1971, the Swiss Made trademark developed into what we know today.
Up until 1971, several rules and definitions existed for what constituted a Swiss Made watch. In 1971 the definition of Swiss Made was definitively confirmed as a trademark, and very little has changed in this regard since. Naturally, 1971 Automatic Swiss Made is named hereafter.
The Swiss Made trademark ensures high quality and durability by defining guidelines for production, assembly and quality approval. Products may carry the trademark if 60% or more is produced in Switzerland. 81% of the 1971 Automatic Swiss Made is produced in Switzerland.
The creation of our 1971 Automatic Swiss Made collection was not left to chance. Even the tiniest detail was carefully thought through - everything from its name and the design to the story behind the collection itself.
Not only is this collection named after the year in which Swiss Made became a registered trademark, as we have also limited each model to 1971 pieces. Every single one is individually numbered, which is engraved into the caseback of the watch. When the last is sold, no more will ever be produced.
Every model in the collection is therefore entirely its own, each with characteristic designs, individual numbering and limited availability.
